Collection contains correspondence, memorandums, meeting minutes, and personnel records relating to Grant's tenure at the American Association of Physics Teachers. Correspondence constitutes the bulk of the material, and deals extensively with publication issues surrounding the American Journal of Physics and other AAPT titles. The records also document various boards and councils within AAPT.

It was a founding Member Society of the American Institute of Physics. Grant was a physicist and professor at Dennison University in Ohio.
