Note of an experiment on Frederick Soddy's lead, 1950; 2 pages of notes written for Collie by Erwin Schrd̲inger (undated, but Schrd̲inger was in Oxford 1933-1936); series of Collie's student notebooks and files of notes on various chemical subjects, including physical chemistry and spectroscopy. The student notes include notes taken from practical work as well as lectures; the lecturers include D. L. Chapman, W. H. Perkin (jnr.), and N. V. Sidgwick.
Physicist and physical chemist. Carl Howard Collie graduated from Oxford in 1925, in chemistry, but subsequently followed a career as a physicist. Tutor in physics at Christ Church, Oxford, from 1930, and University Lecturer in Physics from 1945, until his retirement in 1971.
