Ladenburg, Rudolf Walter, 1882-1952
Rudolf Ladenburg selected manuscripts, 1889-1953 (bulk 1935-1952).
Contains selected manuscripts of Ladenburg with special emphasis on lecture and laboratory courses in physics taught at Princeton University in the 1940s. Included are Ladenburg's notes on nuclear physics and a bibliography of his works, as well as printed copies of some of them.
Physicist Ladenburg, son of eminent German chemist Albert Ladenburg, was born in Germany in 1882. His most original work was on the anomalous dispersion of gases, completed before 1931 when he came to Princeton where his interest turned to nuclear physics. He retired in 1950.
