Obituaries, bibliographies, and correspondence. The Dempster portfolio was assembled by the University of Toronto Archives upon the death of A. J. Dempster in recognition of his achievements in physics. It includes obituaries from PHYSICS TODAY, and by Karl K. Darrow, S.K. Allison, and G.K.K. Link; a bibliography and abstracts of significant articles (1911-1938) prepared by Dempster upon his nomination by Lachlan Gilchrist for the 1947 Nobel Prize, as well as a complete bibliography of his publications through 1950, and correspondence between Dempster and Lachlan Gilchrist documenting the nomination for the Nobel Prize.
