Herman Schlundt papers, 1913-1941.
These papers include Schlundt's research files on radium, radium poisoning, and water analysis for radium. In addition, there exists a good record of the products he was buying and refining for resale to various companies. Also includes materials advertising radioactive qualities of various waters and resort facilities, and information on several devices to be used for producing irradiated drinking water. This collection also includes University of Missouri, Department of Chemistry records as well as the papers of Mary Violette Dover, D. H. Dolley, Harry D. Bent, and Allen E. Stern.
Schlundt was born 16 July 1869 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. He received his Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1901. Schlundt became a chemistry instructor at the University of Missouri in 1902. He was a founding member of the Missouri Academy of Sciences in 1933. He died 30 December 1937 in Columbia, Missouri.
