Chiefly correspondence; together with manuscripts of writings, notes, reprints, and personal papers. Most of the collection is dated 1940-1960 and relates to Yost's World War II research with National Defense Research Committee - Office of Scientific Research and Development, his postwar work in chemistry and mathematics, and the political and social views of Yost and his correspondents. Includes comments on the Oppenheimer case, atomic secrecy, Sputnik, and Yost's opinions, as an active catholic, on science and religion. Correspondents include members of the Iron Nail Club and other colleagues.
