The bulk of the materials cover the period 1963-1969, the height of the U.S. Space Program. The project materials relate to observatories, procurrements, conferences, and events not part of routine departmental business. The grant proposals include the National Aeronautics and Space Administrtion, the National Science Foundation, the U. S. Air Force, the U.S. Army, and the U.S. Navy. Proposals that were accepted also have progress reports, correspondence and financial records.
