Collection of Pauling's scientific and personal papers contains manuscripts for most of his publications, 1920-1990, including The Nature of the Chemical Bond; 30 research notebooks spanning 60 years; scientific offprints from the 1920s to the present detailing the work of his colleagues in areas of his interest; correspondence of Pauling and his wife, Ava Helen Pauling, relating to their involvement in the peace and human rights movements; the original petition for nuclear disarmament presented to the United Nations with over 13,000 signatures of prominent scientists; and memorabilia.
