Max Born papers.
Consists of personal family papers and the correspondence of Max Born with his wife Hedwig Born and family. There are numerous photographs, as well as honors and papers relating to the publication of his books. Born's scientific work seems to be represented only by a typescript of his Mein Leben: die Erinnerungen des Nobelpreistrgers (Munich: Nymphenburger Verlagshandlung), 1975, together with miscellaneous offprints of papers published in learned journals.
Physicist (solid state physics, quantum mechanics, lattice dynamics, wave functions, molecules). On the physics faculty at Universitt̃ Gt̲tingen (1908-1914, 1921-1933); Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universitt̃ Berlin (1914-1919); and University of Edinburgh (1936-1956).
