The Archives of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences preserves documents of importantce to scholarship from the Academy's central administration and its institutions, accumulated since 1949, though the Archives has only been working from 1964, when the material on the "new" (after 1949) Academy was put together. The organization of the material follows the organizational structure of the Academy, like the correspondence of the presidents, general secretaries, different sections, institutions, etc. The Archives also holds some photographs and tape recorded materials.
