Watson, Ernest A., 1887-1975.
Ernest A. Watson papers.
The papers represent Watson's own selection of material which he considered likely to be of historical interest. The 'Memoirs' written in 1971, give an interesting and lucid account of Watson's scientific and engineering career. Although, as he states, the work is not an autobiography, it relates or refers to many episodes of interest in the early history of engineering enterprises in Britain and America. Addenda to the 'Memoirs' were received in November 1974-April 1975. Collection also includes papers and reports by Watson (1958-1966); articles by Watson's father (1904-1909); an obituary of John David Morgan written by Watson (1961); and records of the Birmingham and Midlands Institute Scientific Society (1958-1966).
