Correspondence to and from Allan Sandage along with notebooks and drawings related to his astronomy work. Sandage was a prolific writer, publishing more than 500 papers in his career. These materials include drafts of his scientific papers, as well as handwritten notes and drafts of his extensive writings on the intersection between religion and science; records of astronomical observations taken from glass plate negatives; extensively annotated galley proofs from his book "The Carnegie Atlas of Galaxies"; and correspondence with astronomers from around the world.
