He also believes that there are a lot of disciplinary history centers and plans to work with all the ones he can even the ones that seem counterintuitive in hopes of having the history center function as a physical meeting place. His interest in the history of the physical geosciences, the history of research programs, shifting research programs, diverse commitments, and the history of physics and of the earth sciences in the 19th and 20th centuries.
