Slobodrian, R. J.
R. J. Slobodrian response to 1988 History of Nuclear Physics Survey, 1988.
A one-page caricature by Roy Burton and Tom Chan, one page of autobiographical information, and a seventeen-page response to the questionnaire. The latter documents Slobodrian's early interest in science; his undergraduate education at Argentina's Colegio Nacional de Buenos Aires during the Peron regime and his work with the Cockcroft and Walton accelerator; his postdoctoral work in 1955 with Robert L. Thornton, Warren F. Stubbins, and Elmer Kelly at the University of California, Berkeley, Lawrence Radiation Laboratory; his return there in 1963 as an immigrant with his family; and his eventual move to Quebec. Most of the essay focuses in rich detail on his work and colleagues at the University of California, Berkeley, and at Universit ̌Laval.
