Falicov, L. M. (Leopoldo Maximo), 1933-1995

Oral history interview with Leopoldo Maximo Falicov, 1982 June 16.

Band theory. Studies physics in Argentina. In 1958, goes to University of Cambridge, where he works on the band structure of magnesium under Volcker Heine's direction; interaction with Brian Pippard and David Schoenberg; work on computers, numerical calculations of the Fermi surface; the development of pseudo-potential theory; connections of Cambridge with Russia. Work with Morrel Cohen at Chicago University's Institute for the Study of Metals.
