Blosser, Henry Gabriel
Henry Blosser papers, 1958-1988.
The papers of Henry Blosser contain six folders of photocopies pertaining to the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL). "Important Events in the Evolution of NSCL" (1982) and "Cyclotron Laboratory Michigan State University Project" (1982-1988) outline the history of the department. Also contained in this collection is a contract between Michigan State University and the U.S. Department of Energy, which discusses the additions to the laboratory and costs. A research proposal outlines a study with Harper-Grace Hospitals of neutron treatment on cancerous tumors. There is also correspondence dating from 1958 regarding the hiring of Blosser and the terms of his contract. Finally there is a brochure on the applications of glycol-chemistry such as ethanol fuel and possible disease treatments.
Henry Blosser (Advanced particle accelerator systems, superconducting magnets for cyclotron, nuclear physics, accelerators for cancer therapy). Received BA (1951), MS (1952), and PhD (1954) from University of Virginia. Employed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (1954-1958); Michigan State University (1958- ).
