This collection consists of records spanning the American Institute of Physics (AIP) Executive Director terms of Kenneth W. Ford (1987-1993), Marc H. Brodsky (1993-2007) and H. Frederick Dylla (2007-2015). Within this collection are legal files, including publishing agreements, various lawsuits, and correspondence with different law firms; records pertaining to the relocation of AIP from New York to Maryland, including, papers on different proposed sites, and on the American Center for Physics; material regarding the relationship between AIP and its Russian counterparts, including journal distribution, the translation program, and trips taken by the AIP directors to the Soviet Union/Russia; and AIP Publishing records, including information on subscriptions, marketing, and committee meetings.
