Correspondence and referee files. Correspondence of Franȯis N. Frenkiel (editor, 1958-1981) concerns the founding of the journal and other publication matters. Selected referee files from 1965 and 1975 contain rejected manuscripts and associated reviewers' reports.
The journal is published monthly by the American Institute of Physics with the cooperation of the American Physical Society; publication began in 1958. It is devoted to original contributions to the physics of fluids covering kinetic theory, statistical mechanics, structure and general physics of gases, liquids and other fluids, as well as certain basis aspects of physics of fluids bordering geophysics, astrophysics, biophysics, and other fields of science.
