Micro-Electronics Oral History Project.
The collection is comprised of oral history interviews and other related papers on the field of microelectronics. The first series of interviews consists of five oral histories with Glen Madland, Bruce Everitt, Richard Petritz, Federico Faggin, and Steward Flashen.
The IEEE Center for the History of Electrical Engineering is a research organization of the Institute of Electrical and Electron Engineers and Rutgers University. In January of 1996, the Center, with funding from the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at the Smithsonian Institution, began conducting interviews with pioneers in the field of microelectronics. The careers of the interviewees include both invention and managerial or other non-technical work which provide a unique perspective on innovation in the microelectronic field. The interviews gathered by this project will become part of the oral history holdings of the Archives Center of the National Musuem of American History.
