The second in a planned series of interviews documenting Dr. James Arnold's involvement in several scientific projects. The second interview focuses on Arnold's and Devendra's studies of meteorites and the two scientists early days together in Arnold's laboratory at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography.
James Arnold, American chemist. Ph.D, Princeton University (1946). Professional experience includes: Manhattan project (1943-1945); chemistry faculty, Princeton University (1955-1958); director, University of California, San Diego, California Space Institute (1979-1989).
Devandra Lal, Indian physicist. Ph.D. physics, University of Bombay (1958). Professional experience includes: professor of nuclear physics, director, senior professor, Scripps Institution of Ocranography (1967-); fellow, Physical Research Laboratory (1989-).
