Francis Henri Perrin, theoretical physicist (1901-1992), and professor at the Universit ̌de Paris from 1935-1946. He was a director of the French atomic energy commission when it was established in 1946. In 1951 he took over as the organization's high commissioner of atomic energy, following the dismissal of Frďřic Joliot-Curie, until 1970.
