Thomas Henry Havelock (1877-1968) served as vice-principal, Armstrong College, Newcastle upon Tyne, 1933-1937; Sub-Rector, King's College, Newcastle upon Tyne (the successor to Armstrong College), 1937-1942; Professor of Mathematics, King's College (later renamed University of Newcastle upon Tyne).
