The Ramon B. Hoff Papers include course notes, assignments, exams, and doctoral dissertation materials from Hoff's coursework at the University of Chicago. Also included are research notes, writings, correspondence, and articles, conference proceedings, lectures, dissertations, and reports by others. The vast majority of these are related to his own research.
Ramon (Ray) Brewster Hoff was born on June 25th, 1935 in Pennsylvania. Ramon Hoff received his A.B. in physics from Harvard University in 1957, S.M. in physics from the University of Chicago in 1958, and Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Chicago on September 4th, 1970, while teaching at DePaul University, Illinois. Hoff married Gloria Thelma Albuerne (1930-2003), another doctoral student in physics at the University of Chicago, and together they have two children. Ramon Hoff died on August 3rd, 2016 in Chicago, Illinois.
